Meet our new representative: Dillon Landi (The University of Auckland)
Dillon Landi is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Auckland. His research interests are in critical social theories, sexualities, healthism, and schooling. His thesis analyses the intersection between healthism, space, and queer bodies within education settings. He intends to understand how queer students negotiate dominant discourses regarding the healthy body and sexualities in schools. In addition to his thesis, Dillon is currently working on other projects related to New Zealand Health Education and queer athletes experiences in sport. Prior to the University of Auckland, Dillon served as a health and physical education teacher and district administrator in the United States. He received a Masters of Education (Ed.M.) and a Masters of Arts (M.A.) from Teachers College, Columbia University in the City of New York. He also graduated Magna Cum Laude from Campbell University (Buies Creek, NC) earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and teaching license in Health and Physical Education.
